Our projects

Biomass, coal and nuclear units across Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia — commissioned on site by our engineers, either as a subcontractor to the main supplier or directly for the plant owner.

Pécs Biomass Power Plant II

Pécs, Baranya · Hungary

We carried out the complete commissioning of the plant as a subcontractor for the whole project on behalf of the Danish company DP CleanTech, including the chemical cleaning of the water and steam circuit and the final handover to the customer.

Pécs Biomass Power Plant II is a 35 MW biopower project built in a single phase and still in operation today. The plant is a combined heat and power (CHP) installation fired with agricultural by-products — straw bales and corn residues — as well as wood chips.

The plant is owned by Veolia Environmental Services (UK). The electricity it generates offsets around 150,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.

Tušimice II power plant

Kadaň district · Czech Republic

A lignite-fired plant fitted with a new type of flue gas desulphurisation from Andritz. We worked as a subcontractor to Vítkovice Power Engineering and carried out the complete commissioning of the units.

Between 2007 and 2012 Tušimice II went through a comprehensive refurbishment that secured its operation to current European standards until roughly 2035. Efficiency rose by 6 %, which translates into 14 % less fuel per MWh produced, and the modernised technology will also be able to burn lower-grade fuel from the neighbouring Libouš mine. Nitrogen oxide emissions were cut by 70 %, sulphur dioxide by 79 % and particulate matter by 87 %.

Under the general contractor ŠKODA PRAHA Invest all four original boilers were replaced, the electrostatic precipitators reconstructed, a new desulphurisation plant built and the water management rebuilt. Four new three-casing turbines of 200 MW each were installed, with the generators, the complete electrical equipment and the process control system supplied by Siemens. The result meets the BAT (Best Available Technology) parameters.

Prunéřov II power plant

Kadaň district · Czech Republic

A second lignite-fired plant with a new Andritz desulphurisation unit, again as a subcontractor to Vítkovice Power Engineering with the complete commissioning in our scope.

After its comprehensive refurbishment Prunéřov II runs once-through, two-pass boilers with dry-bottom furnaces and steam reheat, rated at 660 t/h with live steam parameters of 18.2 MPa and 575/580 °C, supplied by Vítkovice Power Engineering. The Škoda KT-250-17.66 turbines of 250 MW are two-casing impulse condensing machines with reheat behind the HP section, one combined HP-IP section and one double-flow LP section.

Each turbine has eight uncontrolled steam extractions for regeneration, feedwater tank heating and district heating water, plus one controlled extraction. The units are connected to the 400 kV transmission grid through 300 MVA, 15.75/420 kV generator transformers via lines V465 and V466 to the Hradec u Kadaně substation.

Mochovce — new units 3 and 4 (MO34)

Mochovce · Slovakia

Commissioning of the new nuclear units under Škoda JS and Slovenské elektrárne. The new blocks secure enough low-carbon electricity for the country: one unit is rated at 471 MWe, with up to 535 MW in the future, and a single reactor covers 13 % of Slovakia's electricity consumption. Compared with fossil-fired plants, the new Mochovce units prevent at least 5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year — about as much as taking two million cars off the road.

The Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic issued the final commissioning permit for unit 3 on 25 August 2022, and its first turbine was synchronised to the grid on 31 January 2023. With unit 3 in operation, all effort moved to completing unit 4: after the hydraulic tests and inspections carried out in 2025 the unit is ready for the next major milestone, the loading of the first fuel assembly into the reactor, which follows the licensing process currently under way at the regulator.

The construction of the new units is the largest private investment in the history of Slovakia. At the peak of the works almost 7,000 people worked on the site in Mochovce, and the project created some 15,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs. Over 125 million man-hours have been worked on MO34, with 54 months since the last registered accident as of 1 December 2025 — an outstanding result by international comparison.
